“California
Transit-Oriented Development Website”
Users’ Guide: How to Use this
Website
Information in this web-based
database is provided on two main levels:
1. Station
Areas: each transit-oriented development (TOD) Station
Area consists of land uses located within a half-mile radius of
a major transit station.
2. Projects:
within each Station Area, information is available for one or more
individual land use projects. These may comprise the entire station
area, may include multiple projects within a station area, or may
be a single building.
The website provides data, maps, photos,
and other information, including: land uses (e.g., residential,
commercial, office, etc.); available transit; parking; pedestrian
facilities, services, and other amenities; local government plans
and zoning codes; the processes and implementation strategies involved;
financing sources; travel benefits of TOD (e.g., transit use and
per-household vehicle travel rates); socioeconomic data from the
1990 and 2000 census; contact information; and a wealth of photos.
Three types of menu sidebars provide
